TC215B Specification

Monitor specification

The TC215B can monitor up to 22 wheels and displays the pressure and temperature of the tyres. When a trailer is connected, pushing a button establishes a wireless data link between the monitor and the trailer tyres.

Pressure alert levels can be set for each axle on the towing vehicle and a single setting for all the tyres on the trailer. The high temperature alert level applies to all tyres. Clear and distinct alerts are given for air loss, low pressure, high pressure and high temperature.

Warnings are also given if a sensor signal is lost, if a sensor battery is low, or when the monitor battery needs recharging.

To save battery power, both monitor and sensors automatically shut down when the vehicle is not is use. They reactivate as the vehicle is used.

Dimensions 115 x 73 x 27mm, weight 132g.Clear LCD screen with automatic backlight has view size 80 x 40mm.
Power Powered by internal lithium battery recharged from vehicle power supply. Automatically shuts down when not in use and reactivates as vehicle is used. Charger input 12 to 24V dc.
Mounting Supplied with robust articulated mount with suction or screw fitting. Simple dashboard stand is also supplied.
Display Continuously cycles through all wheel positions and displays pressure and temperature for each tyre. Additional detail is displayed as required.
Alerts Bright red flashing LED, plus audible alarm. Audible alarm can be silenced by pressing any button.Distinct alerts are given for the following conditions:

  • Air loss (puncture etc.)
  • Rapid air loss (blow-out)
  • Pressure below user-set threshold
  • Pressure above user-set threshold
  • Temperature above user-set threshold

Warnings are also given if the sensor signal is lost, if a sensor battery is low or when the monitor battery needs recharging.

Units User selected. Pressure: Bar or psi, Temperature: °C or °F

Monitor mounting options

TC 215 TPMS Monitor

Screen fixing – robust articulated mount

The monitor has a robust articulated mount that can be attached to the screen with a strong suction pad.

Sensor specification TCSB

Dimensions Dimensions: 20.5 x 20.5mm (length x diameter). When fitted, they extend approx. 12mm beyond the length of the tyre valve.
Weight 9g. Rebalancing of wheels is not normally required.
Security Integral locking screw deters casual theft of sensors.
Pressure range 0 to 6.8bar (0 to  99psi) ± 0.1 bar (1.5psi)
Temperature Operational temperature -40 to 80°C Accuracy ± 3°C
Sensor battery Replaceable CR1632, service life up to 2 years
Sleep mode To conserve battery life, sensor stops transmitting when vehicle is parked and resumes wheels are turning.

Please note

The sensors for this system have a brass thread which is very resistant to corrosion when used on normal tyre valves with a brass thread. Some specialised tyre valve stems are made of aluminium and we don’t recommend using the system with this type of valve. We also advise against using the system with tyres that have been treated with tyre sealant.

TC215B Specification — 2 Comments

  1. The Specs of the TC215B say “Powered by internal lithium battery recharged from vehicle power supply. Automatically shuts down when not in use and reactivates as vehicle is used.”
How long does the battery last without being plugged in to 12V power source? What exactly causes it to shut down or re-activate? – Is it vehicle vibration as I read on a review of an older unit?, or does it have to be plugged in to a power supply to wake it up?

    • The monitor takes 2.5 hours to charge fully and provides about 28 hours operation (four week’s driving at one hour per day). It is not harmed by partial charging and does not have to be fully discharged before recharging.
The system, (both sensors and monitor) are sensitive to vibration, and go into a ‘sleep’ mode when the vehicle is not in use. The monitor should normally be left switched on so that it re-activates as the car door is opened or closed.
